when did I become so normal and boring?

We're moved into the apartment now, or at least as moved-in as it is possible to be when you have only a bed and two chairs worth of furniture. We're buying a couch from my friend and getting a desk for free from my work, but so far we have not managed to find a way to get them from their respective dwellings to our own dwelling, so the floor is serving as the impromptu couch and a little end table as the impromptu desk. It's not terrible, really, but I don't think I'll feel moved in until we get the rest of our stuff here. The mamma and Amie are coming up in a little over a week, so color me excited. We get our mysterious Christmas presents at that time, too, so woot woot.

I've been uber-bored since school let in. Why do people look forward to graduating, again? I mean, seriously, I'm ready to go back now. May have a second job soonishlike, but no guarantees, of course, so lets not jinx me, mmmkay? I want to get it really bad, partly because it would mean less boredom, less hours to fill with very little stimulation. I've been reading like a madwoman, though, which is a welcome return of my natural inclinations.

Seriously? My friends need to start with the visits like yesterday, even, because everyone is gone from HSU and I need people to hang with. Besides, only one of my friends has ever come to visit me up here, and it's going on 3 years now, so seriously. Please? I'll make you homemade ice cream and everything.

The apartment is cool. It's a good size, and our bathroom is bigger than my single room at school. Just sayin'. We have a patio and a little fenced in back yard with flowers and everything. The kitchen is nice and conveniently layed out. Every night me and fuzzy do the dishes, I wash and he dries. Then we go lay in bed and read until we go to sleep. Could we be any more boring? I mean, we're too poor to go out and be young, but even when we had money we didn't do a whole lot of that. I imagine when I go back to school it'll be just like it was when he was living in the dorms with me. I'll come home and do homework or poke around online, and he'll sit and play video games or watch TV. I've honestly ended up with a far more normal life than I had any right to. I thought living like this, being stable like this and with the same person day in and day out, would have to be dull to the point of extreme mental atrophy, but it turns out it's just comfortable. Everything else is easier when you have a nice, quiet, peaceful home to come back to. The hardest thing is going to be getting used to being far from my mom and sister for a larger portion of the year.

The DSL was hooked up today, and thank god, because I feel like I'm trapped in a cabin cut off from the world with no internet. It's also a wireless modem which came with a shiny new wireless card for my laptop, so I can drag it all the way around the apartment and still connect. That will come in useful when I'm back in school and need more quiet and such for my procrastinating studying... So far the bills have not started coming, but I feel like I might be okay, especially since I get another paycheck in like a week. I started a file system and have a plan for keeping careful records because, really, it's time to start being a good grown up and taking care of things more carefully. If I get that job, things will be much easier and I can start thinking about luxuries like big comfy matress pads and shiny new kitchen implements. We ended up getting a land line, too, since the cell phones don't get very good reception inside the apartment. A large portion of the money I am trying to get together is for the deposit for the utilities. Really, I can pay it over 3 months time, but I'd rather have it over and done with so I don't have to worry about it later. The property management place that Chris is now working for has agreed to let us pay the pet deposit over a few months at least, so that means the kitties will be here when the mamma and Amie get here, which will definitely liven things up a bit and make it a little less boring around here.

Well, time to go wash dishes and read. Drop me a comment if you want the new contact info.
