so this finally paid off, and my mom had a great date today. I didn't ask for many details, but they started with breakfast, then went to the beach and a movie, and then to dinner, and she had a really nice time. I was nervous (it's my mom, meeting a stranger from the internet after all), but now I'm thrilled to know she went out and had some fun :)
