Installment #4

31) He holds me accountable. I don't pull low blows or fight dirty anymore because he takes me seriously when I say things. This is significant, because I don't have to be manipulative to get him to hear me or understand that something is important, I just have to say so. And it's significant because it means we have real emotional honesty.

32) He has the best work ethic I have ever known. No matter what job he's been working, he does his best and is always reliable.

33) He's not afraid to be a little kid with me.

34) He brings a smile to my face every single day. They say that after a while the butterflies and the flying sort of feeling of being in love goes away, and it does, mostly, but when I think about him and how lucky I am that he loves me, it's the most amazing feeling in the world.

35) He's very sad that we have to leave the cats when we go home for Christmas.

36) We don't fight. Oh sure, we bicker sometimes, but it's sorta like the fights you have when you're a little kid. It's over stupid shit thats never really a problem, and you forget about it in 5 minutes and everything is happy again.

37) We frequently sing made up songs to each other. Silly ones.

38) Seriously, the cuddling is the best in history. And I don't even have to gripe at him to get it.

39) He loves Golden Star. It's this Chinese food restaurant that my family has been going to for forever. It's good that he likes it. He's one of us now.

40) He actively encourages my random acts of gooberness. Of which there are many.

fiber therapy

Finals are done! The Chem final was a bit traumatic, and I don't know what my grade in that class is going to be, but the Bio final went smashingly I think, so thats at least good. Now my tasks for the next week are work, clean up around the house, and KNIT FOR FUCKSSAKE KNIT!!! to finish my Christmas presents. Here's what I'm currently working on:

I was trying to figure out what to do for mini cousin Kelly, and who knew, I crocheted my first motif. Not an actual project, but I'm still proud of it. Which led to...

Three of them. In white. Connected. It's a Chrismas decoration thing for my grandmother. She'll cry.

Also for my grandmother. It's a cabled scarf. You can't see the cable very well in the picture, but I promise it's there.

And this is what I came up with for Kelly, a pink drop stich scarf, which will have fringe made of the white yarn of the snowflake fame.

I also have the following on my list:
Slippers for my three brothers
Purses for my aunt and stepmother
and IPod cozy for my sister
and various others

So not finishing in time for Christmas

Installment #3

21) We are the perfect degree of boring for one another.

22) My sister effing adores him. Honestly, I think she's more excited about seeing him than me for Christmas (which is okay, it's been a long time since she's seen him.)

23) My mom loves him. She told me once he's the most reliable man she's ever met.

24) He's cute. When I show people his picture, or they meet him for the first time, everyone acts all surprised about it, and secretly, I'm surprised about it too. How'd I snag me a man like him?

25) The other day when I got home, he'd picked up milk for me because we were almost out. Those of y'all who know me know that I can go through milk like a madwoman.

26) He will sometimes bring his gameboy ds and come to the stitch n' bitch meetings with me.

27) He's fun to cook for. He likes everything I make. He at two loaves of that braided bread I made in two days.

28) We've watched every episode of Dharma and Greg together.

29) Same goes for the Simpsons, which we quote all the damn time.

30) He says "I love you" all the time. And knows what it means. And means it.

photo backlog

I have been remiss, lately, in posting the photos I've been taking, so here are a few that have been kickin it on the nikon for a little bit.

from Halloween, natch.

Fuzzy, workin' hard on our second bridal registry spree.

the finished Fuzzy Feet, which are uber comfy.

speaking of wedding crap, invitation samples...

I made this bread today. Isn't it pretty?

this is what happens when studying for a biology test collides in the worst possible way with sidewalk chalk...

Installment #2

11) We can have entire conversations consisting only of the word "meh".

12) Come to that, we basically have our own language. And we sound totally ridiculous, but neither one of us cares.

13) He moved across the country for me (that counts for like 10 billion.)

14) Then, he moved from one end of California to the other for me.

15) And then subjected himself to working at McDonalds so that we could find an apartment.

16) And now he works a physically demanding job and pays most of the bills so that I can go to school.

17) He can install a toilet. And other various and sundry appliances. Seriously useful skills, people.

18) He's going to kill me for this one, but he does the cutest damn Grover dance you've ever seen.

19) He came to see me sing in my choir concert.

20) Carrots and Mr. Quackers.

For Fuzzy With Love

So, since I am teh broke, and cannot afford to shower him with awesome gifts (such as, for example, the Lego Millenium Falcon), this year for Christmas I am giving the gift of embarassment with (drumroll please)....

Why My Fiance is the Best Man on Earth

This will be a multi part segment, going on until I feel like I've adequately covered the finer points of his awesomness, or until he makes me stop...

1) He looks like a 24 year old Harry Potter in the scarf I made for him. I will get a picture at some point so you can all see it, it's the cutest thing ever.

2) He makes killer chicken... seriously, best chicken ever.

3) When I called him from work today because I wasn't feeling good, he brought me orange soda and a hostess pie. Seriously? beat that!

4) He is animal jesus... seriously, every animal on the planet wants to sit on his lap and be pet. It's absolutely uncanny, even ducks and reptiles take an instant liking to him.

5) He is fabulous with our pets. Even the geckos love to be handled by him most of the time.

6) Y'all won't get this, but he will, so two words: Cookie. Chicken.

7) He actually wears the knitted stuff I've given him.

8) He loves Harry Potter, and is steadfastly insisting that the character we lost on book six isn't really dead.

9) He didn't get mad at me for watching the Wizard of Oz like 12 times in one week.

10) Speaking of which, he bought me the Wizard of Oz 3 disc collectors edition for my birthday.

Ok, more later.
